Restoring Sagittal Spinal Alignment Plan and specifically, whether a hyperlordotic ALIF could be possible due to the bertolotti syndrome.
A follow up to the case I posted 2 months prior: https://lnkd.in/dXQTjgM
Discussion was centered on restoring sagittal spinal alignment plan and specifically, whether a hyperlordotic ALIF could be possible due to the bertolotti syndrome.
I’m happy to say the patient is 6 weeks post-op and doing very well!
Thankfully the ALIF technique was able to distract the L5-S1 disc space despite the bertolotti pseudojoint. This, combined with a posterior grade 2 osteotomy, we were able to achieve 30 degrees at the base of his spine. Restoring lordosis at the base of the spine is always an important objective when treating patients with degenerative or deformity issues.
