Acute Onset Back Pain Following Trauma And Multiple Compression Fractures most notable a burst fracture at T11 without PLC injury.

A young man presented to the hospital with acute onset back pain following trauma. Imaging showed multiple compression fractures, most notable a burst fracture at T11 without PLC injury.

Initially IR was consulted, however upon further review of images he was noted to have the development of kyphosis across the thoracolumbar spine, thus he was referred to me. He had a lot of back pain and inability to ambulate.

In this scenario I used #spinejack technology to elevate the end plate and post fill the void with cement.

I was very happy with the outcome of this case since I was able to restore the patients vertebral body height, improve spinal alignment and improve spinal canal dimension in a minimally invasive way without screws or fusing the spine. A year post op and the patient is doing very well!
